Social Media – An Evening with Norman Lear

An Evening with Norman Lear, produced and broadcast by the Television Academy on January 28th, 2015, was a cultural discussion drawing parallels between television, music and the hip-hop culture. Hosted by MSNBC’s Touré, it was an intimate conversation with celebrated television writer-producer-activist Norman Lear, whose influence has extended beyond television to pave the way for the acceptance and popularity of urban contemporary music.

Guests included Russell Simmons, Academy Award Winner and Rapper Common, Black-ish creator Kenya Barris,  DJ and producer D-Nice, author Steve Stoute, comedian and author Baratunde Thurston, and others.

I was fortunate enough to be posted on the red carpet and backstage, where I posted simultaneously to Twitter and Instagram.
